Description: Nicholas Canyon is usually less crowded than most Malibu beaches. It has almost a mile of beach frontage and 23 acres of property. Surfers refer to it as “Point Zero” since it is one of the few perfect point breaks left in Los Angeles County.

Fees: Film: $400 Use Fee / Per Day
Film Prep & Strike: $100 Use Fee / Per Day (1st 3 days / $400 a day after 3 days)

Still Photo: $100 Use Fee / Per 3 Consecutive Days

Reservations: Beaches and Harbors Reservations

Dual Permit Required?: Yes - City of Malibu

Notes: An LA County lifeguard may be assigned at the discretion of LA County Beaches and Harbors based on filming activity. Activity that typically triggers are requirement include, but are not limited to: water activity, lifeguard tower activity, and filming after hours. PLEASE CONTACT FILML.A. FOR CURRENT PERSONNEL RATES

No activity allowed on Sunday due to a City of Malibu ordinance.

A monitor from the Malibu Film Office or FilmL.A. may be required.

Only still photography or small film shoots with hand-held equipment will be allowed. Groups no larger than 10 people total will be allowed.
